Bacchanalia ⭐ | An Honest Review of Atlanta’s Michelin-Starred Staple

A long-time favorite in ATL—I first visited before they earned their star! Bacchanalia offers a refined four-course menu at $125 per person. The ambiance is intimate and dimly lit, with easy parking and a calm vibe on weekday evenings. 1️⃣ Crab & Lobster – The Highlights! 🦀🦞 The Crab Fritter may look simple, but it’s packed with 100% real crab meat 🦀. Paired with fresh orange segments and a tangy sauce, it’s a bright and refreshing start. The Lobster dish features half a lobster—tender, bouncy, and perfectly seasoned. Each bite felt like pure joy 😊. 2️⃣ Duck & NY Strip – Good, But Not Perfect 🦆🥩 The Duck was rich and flavorful with a slightly spicy, Asian-inspired glaze—but it was too rare for my liking, making it a bit tough to chew. The NY Strip (medium-rare) was beautifully cooked with just the right marbling. The fried potatoes mixed with bone marrow were a savory treat! Side veggies were hit-or-miss: bitter cucumber slices 🥒 vs. okay fried okra & eggplant (tempura-style). 3️⃣ Cheese Course – A Mixed Experience 🧀 One cheese dish featured burrata with pickled plums and toasted hazelnuts—delicious and balanced! The other was a warm, melted cheese served with peach and honey crumble—way too oily and sweet 😣. 4️⃣ Desserts – Beautiful but… 😖 The Coffee Dessert tasted intensely bitter (hello, coffee grounds and cocoa powder!). The Soufflé was overly sweet. Together? A rollercoaster of extreme flavors 🎢. The complimentary birthday bread pudding was the real dessert win—light, creamy, and just right! 🍞 Bonus: Fresh bread and bites between courses were lovely, and they offered day-old loaves to take home—yay for leftovers! Verdict: A memorable experience with standout seafood, but some dishes missed the mark. Still, a solid choice for a special occasion! #Bacchanalia #AtlantaFineDining #MichelinStar #FoodReview #AtlantaEats #SpecialNightOut
