🌆 Baltimore: Beyond Color – A Glimpse into Its Soul 🖤🤍

During my time in Baltimore, I often wandered around the Inner Harbor and the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins. The harbor became my morning and evening retreat. At dusk, I’d sit on a bench by the pier, feeling the cool sea breeze, watching ducks and pigeons flutter, and listening to the murky waves lap against the shore. In those moments, Baltimore felt familiar yet mysterious – far from the city that often makes people uneasy. JHU’s School of Medicine and Public Health are among the best in the US. The campus is stunning – a true green oasis in the city 🌳🎓. I also visited two art museums: Baltimore Museum of Art (on JHU’s campus): Home to works by Matisse, Picasso, and other Impressionists. The sculpture garden is lovely too 🖼️. The Walters Art Museum: Located downtown near the Washington Monument in Mount Vernon, it showcases art from ancient to modern times 🏛️. Edgar Allan Poe’s grave and one of his former residences are also in Baltimore. Reading his works here feels like touching history – beautiful, yet hauntingly melancholic, like “flowers blooming on ruins” 📖🌹. And of course – you must try the blue crabs! I had them every day 🦀. Crab burgers (available almost everywhere) Phillips Seafood’s crab cakes (at Inner Harbor) Miss Shirley’s crab hash Cheesecake Factory’s fried bread with crab dip (forgot the name – but delicious!) + their original cheesecake 🍰 For hotels, I recommend Hyatt Place Inner Harbor 🏨: Modern, clean rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and great views A spacious desk perfect for working or reading by the window ☕📖 Breakfast is basic but decent (coffee, toast, bacon, eggs, cereal…) #Baltimore #JohnsHopkins #TravelUSA #InnerHarbor #ArtAndCulture #SeafoodLover #EdgarAllanPoe #HotelReview #CityVibes 🖤📸
