Baltimore Food
Never thought this would happen! As someone who studied in LA and now works in NY, I’ve actually been won over by Baltimore’s food scene. Heads-up: I’m a total seafood lover! 🦀 📍 Thames Street Oyster House Made a special detour on the drive back from DC to NY just to eat here again! • Cast Iron Crab Cake 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Blue Crab is a Maryland specialty. Probably because it’s close to the source, the crab cake here is incredibly generous—about 3cm thick, pan-seared to a slight crisp on the outside, and super juicy inside. With a dab of the cocktail sauce on top, it somehow gave me fried chicken vibes 😂. Served with roasted sweet potatoes—pure winter comfort! And it’s only $36! • Besides the must-try crab cake, we also ordered the Thames Street Seafood Salad ($14—a mountain of seafood on two lettuce leaves, refreshing and delicious, though not exactly a "salad" in the traditional sense… but who’s complaining?). We’ve also tried the octopus, scallops, oysters… everything was delicious and never disappointing. Based on two visits, the chefs here seem to regularly update the menu and tweak the sides. 📍 Pitango Gelato A gelato lover’s dream! This shop is in Fell’s Point, just a 5-minute walk from Thames Street. The gelato is incredibly smooth and creamy, and they frequently introduce special limited-time flavors. The first time I went, I tried a flavor called "Bacio" (which means "kiss" in Italian). 📍 Locust Point Steamers Steamed seafood—perfectly preserves the fresh, original flavor of the seafood. So yeah, Baltimore won me over with its food 🤣. #Baltimore #BaltimoreFood #SeafoodLover #DMVFood #FoodieRecs #CrabCake #Gelato
