Banff-Jasper

The itinerary is quite relaxed, with most outings starting around noon. This trip is mainly to make up for the regrets from the last winter visit (you can check out the first note: Toronto to Banff road trip). 😉 I’m not a big fan of hiking trails, so all spots with trails will be marked. Day 1⃣️ 🚘 Arrive in Jasper in the evening - Jasper Town If time permits, you can visit Jasper National Park. 🌳 Day 2⃣️ Medicine Lake Take the Maligne Lake Cruise to Spirit Island (booking in advance on the official website is required) 🚢 Mount Edith Cavell (I originally wanted to see the floating ice, but by the end of June, the snow there hadn’t melted yet. However, the scenery is still spectacular) includes a 700m trail 🏔️ If time allows, you can hike the Maligne Canyon trail. 🥾 Day 3⃣️ Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure (book in advance) - Columbia Icefield Skywalk (as part of a package) ❄️ Peyto Lake (the second most beautiful spot on this trip) includes a 700m trail, well worth it 👍 Bow Lake It’s recommended to stay at Glacier View Lodge. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s also midway between Banff and Jasper, making it a perfect stop for the drive. 🏞️ Day 4⃣️ The most beautiful spot - Moraine Lake to watch the sunrise🌅. Sunrise is at 5:30 am, so we went to reserve a parking spot at 3:30 am. By 4 am, no more cars were allowed in. During peak season, you’ll probably need to arrive even earlier to secure a spot. 😴 If you’re energetic, you can go boating on Lake Louise. Boating starts around 8 am, and the morning light is better for photos. We went back to catch up on sleep and visited in the afternoon, only to find the lake full of boats and the shore crowded with people.💰 Boating costs around 150 CAD. 🚣 If time allows, you can also visit Emerald Lake. 💚 Day 5⃣️ Banff Gondola (book in advance) 🚠 Cave and Basin is not recommended. You can hike the Johnston Canyon trail. 🚶 Lake Minnewanka💰 Boating here costs around 100 CAD.
