Barcelona CosmoCaixa Science Museum 🌐🔬
This city-based science museum is definitely worth a visit! Located at the foot of Tibidabo Mountain, it's particularly close to the Temple of the Sacred Heart. Inside, there are numerous scientific experiments, ancient creatures, and dinosaur fossils 🦕, making it perfect for family outings. I encountered several classes of elementary school students there, who were so engrossed in the dinosaur fossils that they didn't want to leave. One dinosaur leg fossil was almost as tall as me, which was astonishing. The highlight is the Amazon Rainforest exhibit, accessible from the bottom floor. It features artificial rain, cranes walking around freely, and arapaima fish visible from the indoor glass wall. What's more fun is that when someone walks into the rainforest, the view from inside is like watching a movie, but it's so stuffy and hot and humid that you need to come out for some fresh air after about ten minutes. There's a self-service restaurant on the top floor, but it wasn't open on the day I went, and the cinema was also closed. Otherwise, I was planning to spend half a day there. The café allows you to exit and then pay when you return. If you're a 'la Caixa' customer, admission is free, which is fantastic. On the way past the Sagrada Família, I ate at a snack shop called Delicios that serves lean meatballs and fried skewers. The taste was great, the fried skewers were delicious, and the taro balls were served in such a large bowl that I had to force myself to finish them. I was so full that I could hardly walk. #Barcelona #WeekendGetaway #ScienceMuseum
