We had no idea what to expect. It is quite a large building and we were confused where we should start our visit as there are lots and lots of rooms & inner area's that do not really have something to do with the main exhibition. We also wanted to have something to drink first at the cafeteria, but were confused and thought we had to enter the museum first. That apparently was not the case, and we weren't sure if we could re-enter after leaving. We did find a candy & drinks machine outside in a pick-nick area that is still part of the paid museum area. We then followed the spiral walkway down and arrived in an area about Antarctic exploration. After this, you can go in the building where we walked through an interactive exhibition about sound & music which was quite interesting and fun to play with the various interactive elements/instruments. Only then did we reach the seemingly actual exhibition area that is filled with tons of fun technical hands-on experiences/experiments, teaching you about physics and other scientific topics. You could really spend quite some time here if you try out everything and read everything there is to read. There is a vague differentiation between these topics by the color of stands. In general, we were quite impressed with the quality and variety of things to see & do. But we would have preferred having a more clear guidance on what we should visit and where we can find things in this huge building. The highlights for me was the cloud chamber that shows the decay of radiation particles. I would definitely recommend visiting...

CosmoCaixa, Barcelona's science museum, is a remarkable destination for all ages. The building itself is an architectural gem, seamlessly integrating modern design with the historical structure of the former Casaramona textile factory. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by an impressive atrium featuring a stunning indoor rainforest, which sets the tone for a journey into the wonders of science.

The exhibits are diverse and engaging, covering topics from geology to astronomy. The interactive displays encourage hands-on learning, making complex concepts accessible and enjoyable. The “Fossils” section captivates with its ancient specimens, while the “Planetarium” offers a mesmerizing journey through the cosmos, perfect for stargazers and science enthusiasts alike.

One of the highlights is the “Flooded Forest,” a unique exhibit that immerses visitors in a tropical ecosystem, showcasing biodiversity and environmental conservation. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions, workshops, and educational programs, ensuring there’s always something new to discover.

CosmoCaixa excels in creating an inviting atmosphere where curiosity thrives. Whether you're a family looking for an educational outing or an individual eager to explore the frontiers of science, this museum is a must-visit. Its blend of fun, education, and innovation makes it a standout attraction...

Experience : I went there last Sunday on April 1st 2023 with my husband. Overall a very interactive museum space. I would give it a 5 star for this part. As the museum was truly geared towards educational fun for adults and kids. There was a lot to do and it was all educational and practical. The place offered variety of science activities, instruments for hands on practice and fun gadgets and tools to learn from.

P.S: We at first thought that its the first Sunday of the month so it would allow free entry but then came to know its a private museum so we had to pay to enter.

Day of the visit : 1st Weekend of April 2023 (Sunday)

Online Reservation recommended: High-Moderate

Wait time: Weekend wait time was a lot for those who wanted to pay at the counter directly. We had to stand in the line for more than 15 minutes as there was only one girl active on the counter booking table. ( There were more than 20 people in queue and only one counter help for the booking).

Fee & General charges: 6 euros per person includes science museum, rainforest and the temporary exhibitions. Also, planetarium cost is separate from general museum.

Exceptions: CaixaBank customers and those under 16 years of age have free admission to the exhibitions but they have to purchase a ticket for access areas other than...
