Bhaktapur Nepal Bhadgaon
What luck to meet a travel buddy in Nepal! 🤩 We had such a fulfilling and joyful day—here’s our detailed itinerary, packed with tips for anyone planning a trip! First off, let’s talk about Bhaktapur (fun fact: locals and foreigners know it by this name—so always use Bhaktapur when asking for directions! 🗣️). 🚗 Getting to Bhaktapur Taxi: Head to Bhaktapur Durbar Square 🎯. Costs around 1000 Nepali rupees, taking 25–35 minutes. Motorbike: A cheaper option at about 350 rupees, same travel time as a taxi 🏍️. Bus: Super budget-friendly! Navigate to Bhaktapur Bus Station 🚌 (look for the bus in the color shown in Figure 2). Show Figure 5 to the fare collector, and they’ll know your destination. Cost: Just 35 rupees, but takes 45–55 minutes. Pro tip: After the bus starts, re-navigate to “The tourist bus park”—get off there, don’t miss the stop! ⚠️ Morning buses (like the 7:30 AM one I took) have more seats—lucky me! ☀️ 🏰 Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tickets: Chinese passport holders pay 500 rupees 🇨🇳; other nationalities pay 1800 rupees 🌍. Guides: There are local guides who speak Mandarin, usually charging 1500 rupees—feel free to bargain if you hire one! 💬 Museum: Extra 150 rupees for entry 🖼️. Must-see spots: Check out the Durbar Square views in Figures 12, 13, 14, and the ancient bathing pool (Figure 11)—said to be where sacred maidens once bathed! 🏛️ 🍯 Bhaktapur Yogurt Forget what I said earlier—Khwopa Juju Dhau is the spot (see Figure 6)! Sizes & prices: Small (like Figures 7 & 8): 60 rupees 🥄 Large bowl: 125 rupees 🍲 Big clay pot: 220 rupees 🏺 My take: The yogurt stuck to the clay pot has a subtle earthy taste—not as amazing as the hype! 😐 Thamel has Juju yogurt too, in clean boxed packaging—tastes just as good without the clay flavor. 📦 🚌 Returning to Kathmandu Exit the square and navigate to “Dxn retail sale” 🎯. Across the street, you’ll find buses to Thamel (look for the one like Figure 17). Ask the fare collector to confirm it’s going to Thamel, Kathmandu—then pay 35 rupees. The bus will loop back to Bhaktapur Bus Station—get off there, and you’re set! 🚏 More tips: Locals don’t know “—always say “Bhaktapur” to be understood! 🗺️ Morning buses have better seating—aim for early departures! 🕒 All in all, it was an unforgettable day with a great travel buddy—Nepal, you were amazing! ❤️ #Nepal #Nepaltravel #Bhaktapur #BhaktapurDurbarSquare #Bhaktapuryogurt #Bhaktapur
