Nepal | Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Where All Longings Are Fulfilled

🌟Bhaktapur Durbar Square The square is home to a school, and at noon, students can be seen taking their lunch break, playing, chatting, and strolling around the square. Bougainvillea covers the red walls, making the scene incredibly beautiful. 🌟Royal Palace ✨Built in the 15th century, the palace originally had 99 courtyards, but only six remained after the 1934 earthquake. Currently, only some courtyards are open to the public. Certain Hindu temples do not allow entry for non-Hindus and photography is not permitted. 🩵The entrance is the magnificent Golden Gate , a symbol of Bhaktapur, and the copper carvings around it are considered the most outstanding metalwork in Kathmandu. 🌈To the east of the Golden Gate is the Palace of 55 Windows, where royal ladies would watch the outside world through the windows. It is also said that the Palace of 55 Windows was built in memory of 55 deceased fathers. 🌟Taumadhi Square Nyatapola Temple in Taumadhi Square, built in 1702, is a typical representative of Nepalese Newari-style temple architecture and the highest temple in Nepal. It is also a representative of traditional architecture in Kathmandu, dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi. The temple has five-tiered roofs and five-tiered bases, with stone sculptures of strong men, elephants, lions, garudas, and goddesses on both sides of the stone steps leading up. Climbing up to the high temple top offers a great view, and local students can be seen playing music and singing on the temple top, creating a very relaxing atmosphere (pictured in p8). 🌟Potters' Square The square is filled with freshly made pottery. Men are usually responsible for shaping the pottery, while women and children decorate and spread it out to dry. The Chinese restaurant where we had lunch overlooks Potters' Square, and a group of students were visiting (pictured in p9). 📍How to Get There: About 14km east of the city center, the bus ticket is 50 NPR, and the journey takes about 1 hour. ⏰Opening Hours: 9:00-18:00 🎫Admission: 1100 NPR for locals, 15 USD for foreigners, and 500 NPR for Chinese tourists with a passport. Remember to bring your passport! #Bhaktapur #Nepal #TravelInspiration #MyPhotographyDiary #CulturalAttractionSharing #TravelBits #BhaktapurDurbarSquare #NepalTravel #OffTheBeatenPathTravel
