Last Sunday (10/26), I rode my motorcycle ποΈ up to Big Bear Lake to catch the last colors of fall! π Round trip from LA was about 200 miles, roughly 4 hours of riding. π£οΈ Route Breakdown: Took Exit 81 off the 210, then straight onto Route 330 β the mountain section is about 33 miles long and takes around 1 hour. I set off at 11:30 AM, reached Big Bear around 1:30 PM, explored leisurely, and headed back after dinner at 6:30 PM. π Stops in Order: 1οΈβ£ Lakeview Big Bear On CA-18, about 10 miles before the lake β a couple of pull-outs offer high vantage points overlooking the valley and a glimpse of the lake. π 2οΈβ£ Boulder Bay Park A big brown bear statue π» holds a welcome sign here! Itβs a small green space by the lake with a deck for photos and a pavilion for shade. Parking is limited β you might have to wait a bit. 3οΈβ£ Big Bear RV Park Walk through the entrance path into a golden world π‘ β stunning from every angle! 4οΈβ£ Starbucks / Vons Area My favorite spot! π Red leaves near Starbucks, and behind the DIY Home Center β a whole grove of golden trees glowing in the 4 PM sunlight. Perfect for photos of people + bikes! πΈβ¨ 5οΈβ£ Big Bear Lake Village Welcome Sign Walk through the arch into the downtown village β full of gift shops, restaurants, and more autumn colors. ποΈπ 6οΈβ£ Rotary Pine Knot Park A small park next to the village β follow the path to a sandy beach along the lake. Youβll even see lots of βflying ducksβ π¦π π² Food Stop: Tropicali β Hawaiian-style bowls π and special tropical drinks πΉ. About $30 per person for a bowl + drink. Cool vibe β you can even enter through a sharkβs mouth! π¦ π Final Thoughts: Big Bear in autumn is unexpectedly gorgeous! π Colors are at their peak now β soon itβll turn into a ski destination β·οΈ.
