Boston/DC | Is This the Brunch Ultimate?

Not sure if it’s the ceiling, but people are eating from Boston all the way to Washington 😅 Tatte is basically the brunch canteen for Bos/DC folks When in doubt, this place is a sure bet 🍳 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗸𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 Before coming to Boston, I was recommended their Shakshuka with meatballs. As a carnivore, the meatball option was a no-brainer. The meatballs are made of lamb, rich in flavor and juicy. The tomato sauce is thick with a hint of spice, and dipping the butter-fried challah is simply divine! 🥑 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 A friend ordered the avocado open-faced sandwich～I tried a bite, and it’s a safe, straightforward choice! 🥩 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗯 𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗵 There’s some controversy about this dish on Xiaohongshu, but it feels like a unique brunch dish. A bit heavy for early in the morning, but perfect for lunch. The cumin and lamb flavor are quite strong, a mix of minced lamb with potatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots, paired with poached eggs, the flavors are rich and it’s my top choice. ☕️ About the Drinks Tried the seasonal limited black sesame latte and matcha latte. The black sesame latte is sweet but delicious, with black sesame sediment that I actually enjoy! The matcha latte’s matcha wasn’t whisked properly, also with a lot of sediment, not the best matcha latte… Compared to the hearty American breakfast, Tatte is a café created by an Israeli immigrant (woman owned!) and is deeply influenced by Israeli and European cuisines, with a Mediterranean flair, perfect for sitting on the patio on a sunny morning and savoring the passing of time.
