Boston | My Girlfriend Was Spiced to Tears by African Food πŸ˜‚πŸŒΆοΈπŸ’§

At Safari African Restaurant in Jamaica Plain (address: 950 American Legion Hwy), we finally got to try the fufu my girlfriend had been wanting to eat for so long. It was paired with Egusi, a dish made from crushed watermelon seeds, goat meat, and goat trotters. I thought the fufu had a great texture, and the Egusi was fragrant, but my girlfriend found it a bit gamey. 🐐 In the background (out of focus) was my order: Jollof rice with grilled tilapia. The rice was delicious and exactly to my taste 🍚, while the fried plantains were absolutely incredibleβ€”sweet and crispy in parts, not greasy at all. 🍌✨ I chose the spicy version for the grilled tilapia. To me, it was just mildly spicy, but it made my girlfriend cry from the heat! πŸ˜… She said she’s not used to the kind of spiciness that comes more from spices than from chili peppers. (I might have teased her about it all night long πŸ˜‚πŸ‘») #Food #InternationalStudentEats #AfricanCuisine #AfricanFood #BostonLife #Boston #BostonFood #SpicyFood #FoodAdventures #CoupleEats
