Had an excellent meal here. I ordered the thieboudienne, bissap, baobab juice, and thiakry. Thieboudienne is incredibly delicious, the rice was cooked perfectly and the sauce that the food was cooked in was outstanding. It came with a hot sauce that was also phenomenal. The bissap and baobab juice were great and refreshing accompaniments. Honestly, being able to get baobab juice at all in this region is really impressive. I took the thiakry to go and enjoyed it, its great on a hot summer night and the millet provides a really interesting and nice texture for a dessert. Service was great and hospitable, and there are many tables available. You can tell they take their food really seriously at this restaurant. Also, I didn’t get something with fufu but I saw another table get it and the fufu looked massive - definitely got to try that next time. Best West African food I’ve had in Massachusetts so far.

2022: today we got grilled chicken box w plantains and jollof rice. Satisfactory but kind of bland. Also okra sauce (beef & fish) with fufu ball of fermented kassava: fish flavor overpowering and fufu is like a big mashed potatoe ball. The sorrel juice is hitting the spot even thought it came mostly frozen. Deggeh dessert is good but has gluten and lactose. 2019: We got the "chicken stew" which was 2 drums with skin in thick onion red sauce with plain white rice, and "lamb with jollof rice" which was 6 slices about 2" diam 1/2" thick of meat with bone & skin in peppered broken rice. The beef samosas were ok, but felt more like Jamaican beef patties. $16 each meal to go, it was not a bargain and the quality & taste did not meet the price for that neighborhood. My friend is still saying "blah".

Amazing little place! My boyfriend and I ordered fish and lamb with salad and plantain, both were very tasty with generous portion...... Friendly people working there, we waited a while for the food but we knew it’s worth it because you can just tell they treat the food with care. We brought the food to a park and enjoyed outside, couldn’t ask for more!!

The male manger there is rude and Condescending. He treats the community that employs him with arrogance and feels entitled as they are the few African restaurants available locally and therefore thinks people will return despite how he talks to them. I can go in further to what took place but think it’s best I have it addressed by the BBB. I have referred many non Africans to their business that usually order through a food service /third party. They usually order it because of me because of how much I rave about west African cuisine . Today I went in person to pick up an order and the owner gave me a blank stare because I didn’t elaborate on the specifics of the order. I listened to him express his frustration on how I didn’t know how to order but not once clarify or educate me. I left empty handed and I will Never visit this place again and i would only hand over my hard earned money to a respectful...

I first of all I'm going to say the food was so delicious and fresh. I had the roasted lamb with jollof rice and salad. The lamb was tender and very tasty as well as the rice and salad. I had hard to put the hot pepper sauce on the side which again a today delicious flavor to the entree as well as the salad dressing was Italian. The service was friendly as they know me and gave me excellent customer service every time I've gone there. As I waited for my food I had nice conversations with some patrons who had already started eating otherwise I would have stayed to eat with them. All in all my experience at Safari African restaurant is always positive and the food is always good. The place is clean and inviting mainly because of the friendly African women who prepared the food. So visit Safari African restaurant you will not be disappointed! You can also call ahead to get your...
