Boston Area: Rockport
Boston Area: Rockport|A Healing Town by the Atlantic Want to escape the hustle of downtown Boston? Take the northbound Purple Line from Boston North Station and ride all the way to the terminal—you’ll unlock this coastal town called Rockport. It’s like a treasure gently wrapped in time, quiet yet filled with little bits of romance, and lonely yet brimming with the warmth of life~ 😌 Rockport is peaceful, and also carries a poetic loneliness. The lighthouse on the embankment stands quietly by the sea, like a silent knight guarding the town; in the harbor, small boats are gently moored, occasionally swaying with the waves as if dozing off; colorful cottages are scattered along the streets, with red, yellow, and blue roofs that brighten up the town’s uniform blue sky and sea, turning every random shot into a healing scene with a natural filter~ 📸 But Rockport is even more full of overflowing romance! Most shops in the town sell artworks. Along the winding paths, every shop window is like a delicate little theater, with paintings depicting the sea, fishing boats, and daily life in the town; even the residents are full of romantic ingenuity—they pick up stones from the beach, paint little fish, waves, and smiling faces on them, then neatly lay these painted stones in front of their doors. Anyone passing by can’t help but smile~ 😍 The most amazing part is the Shalin Liu Performance Center at sunset! When the setting sun dyes the sea golden red, the concerts here become a "collision of nature and art"—the sea is the background, the sunset is the curtain, and the sound of the piano blends with the waves, so romantic that you want to freeze time~ 🎵 Boston is still bitterly cold in March, with sea breezes cutting across the face like little knives. But the cold in Rockport is warmed by a group of lovely people~ A young couple braved the cold wind to wade into the sea, standing side by side in the shallow water. Their courage won cheers and applause from all tourists on the shore, and the passion of youth dispelled the chill in an instant; on a bench by the sea, a middle-aged couple quietly looked into the distance, leaning against each other without speaking. Time seemed to hit the pause button for them, full of the tenderness accumulated over the years; outside a small shop, an old grandpa held a guitar and hummed an old song softly, while the old grandma sitting next to him looked at him with a smile—love in her eyes was warmer than the sun~ These little moments suddenly made the cold town warm and lively~ ❤️ Unfortunately, the famous Roy Moore Lobster Company in the town was closed that day, and the highly recommended The Ice Cream Store was also not open. I didn’t get to taste the legendary delicacies, which was a little regret~ 😂 But a surprise on the way back quietly made up for this regret: in an alley, an uncle walked while singing in bel canto, his rich voice floating in the wind, and passers-by all looked over with smiles; when I turned my head, the warm sun just fell on my face, so warm that I squinted my eyes. At that moment, I suddenly remembered Hesse’s line: "I want nothing more than to be soaked through by the sun"—all small disappointments were healed by this gentle moment~ ✨ #BostonArea#Rockport#CoastalTown#BostonLife#HealingTravel
