Boston Day Trip: Coastal Town of Rockport 🌊
Boston Day Trip: Coastal Town of Rockport 🌊 Lately, I’ve been exploring Boston like crazy, and for my first short day trip outside the city, I picked this perfect northbound coastal route! Let’s dive in~ Itinerary: Manchester by the Sea → Gloucester → Rockport 🚗 ▫️ Manchester by the Sea 🌿 Yep, this is the very town from the movie Manchester by the Sea! 🎬 It’s such a quiet, cozy spot—right across from the train station is Masconomo Park, where tons of people were chilling on the lawn with picnics. So peaceful, I almost wanted to lay down and stare at the clouds! ☁️ ▫️ Hammond Castle Museum 🏰 Before reaching Gloucester, you’ll pass this stunning coastal castle—it used to be the home of an inventor! Inside, there are tons of his vintage collections and cool science discoveries (way more interesting than I expected! 🤩). Outside, there’s a lawn facing the ocean—views are chef’s kiss, perfect for photos. 100% worth a stop! ▫️ Gloucester 🎨 We parked near City Hall, and right next to it is the Cape Ann Museum. We didn’t go inside, but wandered around its little courtyard (super cute!). Then we walked all the way to the waterfront—Gloucester’s downtown is full of art galleries, and we passed this amazing high spot called Schooner Adventure. The sea breeze here? Chef’s kiss again! 💨 ▫️ Rockport 🦞 Way livelier than Gloucester! The parking near the waterfront is insanely crowded (pro tip: arrive early!), but it’s totally worth it. The star spot? Bearskin Neck—a colorful, beachfront street packed with galleries, souvenir shops, and ice cream parlors. So summery, I felt like I was in a postcard! 🌈 Town Of Rockport Kinda like a self-service visitor center—they have restrooms AND free travel brochures! leaflet As a bullet journal lover, I was so excited (finally, new stuff to stick in my journal! ✍️). Bearskin Neck Country Store A super retro candy store! 🍬 They have all sorts of fun little gadgets and sweets—definitely pop in for a browse (I may have bought a few tiny souvenirs… oops 😅). Captain Hedge Ocean View Walk to the end of Bearskin Neck, and you’ll hit this spot! It has unobstructed ocean views, plus a stone jetty you can walk out on. Standing there, feeling the wind and listening to the waves? Pure bliss! 🌊 Motif 1 I’d heard this was the “most-painted mural ever”—but when I saw it, I was confused! 😂 It’s not a mural at all—just a tiny house with cool decorations on its exterior. It’s cute, but seriously… how did the “mural” rumor start? Someone explain! 🤔 ▫️ Good Harbor Beach 🏖️ Our last stop! This beach is way bigger than I thought—busy, vibrant, and so pretty. Before you get to the sand, you have to walk through a grassy area… and when the ocean finally comes into view? That “wow” moment hit hard! 🌟 We dipped our feet in the water (cold but refreshing!) and watched the sunset for a bit—perfect end to the day. #BostonDayTrips#BostonWeekends#GotoTheBeach#TravelDiaries#RockportMA#GloucesterMA#ManchesterByTheSea
