Boston Food Journey: Eating & Drinking All the Way

Traveling from a small town in Texas to Boston, food and drinks had to be top priorities. While I often see locals online calling Boston a "food desert," all I can say is—no comparison, no pain. Burp
Here’s a record of my four-night, three-day food and drink adventure (purely personal experience—tastes vary!): 🏆 Amazing: Greek Restaurant Krasi Bourdeto 🍅 fish stew—caught red snapper that day, incredibly fresh and tender, perfect in both flavor and texture. Souvla—grilled meat with rotating daily flavors; pork that day. Not greasy at all, with a smoky, meaty aroma. Heard the lamb and chicken are even better. Lamb shank rice—one of their signaturedishes, delicious but with a strong lamb flavor. Order with caution if you’re sensitive to gaminess. 📜 Red List: Cold Udon at Yume Ga Arukara—spicy cold udon. Small queue but moved quickly. Chewy udon, not spicy at all; the beef was slightly sweet. Note: if you want to add more after ordering, it’s take-out only (probably to boost turnover). Good Times Restaurant—seems more like Northern Chinese cuisine. Super tasty! Pictured: lamb spine stew; in the distance, crispy and fragrant green beans. Also ordered crispy pork knuckle and mixed vegetable salad—all delicious! đŸ” Heytea Detour: As a small-town dweller visiting the city, I couldn’t resist trying Heytea. Matcha Coconut Cloud (no ice, no added sugar) + Mango Coconut (light ice, light sugar). Both were delicious—lower sugar suited my taste perfectly. Waited about 20 minutes at the Newbury store but could order via mini-program! 🍊 Orange List (Okay): Neptune Oyster Bar—went on a Wednesday night after landing, waited 45 minutes, got in around 9:10 PM. Main fish dish—all good, scallops and veggies with sauce were tasty, but scallops were slightly overcooked. Oysters, shrimp, and clams ordered twice—just not my thing. 💛 Yellow List (Decent but Overhyped): Ogawa Coffee—as a die-hard hojicha/bitter matcha lover, maybe my expectations were too high. Definitely above average, but not as godly as the internet claims. Matcha was fine. Cafe Landwer—as a Mediterranean food lover, I had to try their Shakshuka and what I think was gyro kebab? Both were okay, portions huge. Their coffee—not recommended. George Howell—took a taxi on the last morning for their famous coffee. Interior was nice, coffee equipment fancy. đŸš« Won’t Return: Tatte—visited the one near Berklee. Pistachio croissant was a bit soggy, sandwich was average, coffee okay. Not sure if quality varies by location, but I was a bit disappointed 😞. #Boston #BostonFood #BostonMediterraneanFood
