Boston Thai food | Pad See Ew, where you can eat every Thai restaurant

🌶️ Crying Thaiger: Malden’s Thai Staple—Solid, But Mango-Free (A Tragedy) Finally tried this famous Malden spot, only to hit a snag: no mango (not that day, not even now). For a Thai restaurant, that’s a low blow—but there were still bright spots. 🍗 Standout Dishes Crispy Taro ($7.95): 🍠 My new obsession. A mix of taro chunks and mashed taro, coated in starch and fried to a shatteringly crisp finish. Topped with peanuts, it’s nutty, sweet, and earthy—perfect with the tangy, peanut-studded dipping sauce. Fried, but worth every calorie. Crispy Chicken Pad See Ew ($12.95 + $1.95 add-on): 🍝 Greasy (look at that pool of oil at the bottom!), but undeniably tasty. Wok-charred wide noodles with a smoky, savory sauce—that “stir-fry heat” flavor. Chicken is crispy, though veggies are scarce (just broccoli and egg). Guilty pleasure territory. 🥤 Drinks & Extras Thai Iced Tea ($3.95): 🧋 Classic orange hue, sweet but balanced with ice—creamy, refreshing, and pairs well with spicy dishes. Thai Milk Green Tea ($4.25): 🍵 Less impressive—tastes slightly artificial, with a muted tea flavor. Stick to the iced tea. Thai Omelet ($13.95): 🥚 Basic: fluffy (but overcooked) omelet with ground pork, served with rice and a garlicky chili sauce. Edible, but not worth ordering again. Sweet Sticky Rice with Egg Custard ($6.95): 🍮 A mango-less backup. (coconut milk) sticky rice with a thick, eggy custard top—sweet, rich, and warm (a nice touch). Too sugary for me, but comforting. ✨ The Verdict Price: ~$30 per person—fair for portions. Vibe: Busy even on weekdays, with a short afternoon closure (check hours first). Final thought: Solid Thai food with unique dishes (hello, fried taro!), but the mango drought stings. Worth returning to try their (and pray for mangoes). 📍 Crying Thaiger 114 Ferry St, Malden, MA 02148 #MaldenEats #BostonThai #NoMangoNoCry
