Boulder/Denver Asian Food Guide ๐Ÿฅข๐ŸŒถ๏ธ

When I first arrived in Boulder, I quickly realized why people call it a "food desert" โ€” especially when it comes to Chinese food. Options are pretty limited here ๐Ÿœ๏ธ. While Five Spice is a decent spot, sometimes you have to turn to Thai or make the drive to Denver for more variety. Hereโ€™s my rundown of some Asian spots I tried: โŒ Aloy Thai (Google: 4.4) Ordered Garlic & Pepper โ€” way too much seasoning, tasted very Americanized. Not my cup of tea. โœ… Buddha Thai (Google: 4.3) Also got Garlic Pepper โ€” MUCH better than Aloy! Nice wok hei and felt more authentic. A good option for Chinese flavor cravings. ๐Ÿœ Rakkan Ramen (Google: 4.1) Tried the Ruby Ramen (chicken + shrimp). Broth was a bit salty, but thatโ€™s pretty standard for ramen. ๐Ÿฅข Star Kitchen (Google: 4.4) Went for dinner (dim sum not available at night). Ordered French-style beef cubes โ€” tasty, but all meat, no veggies. Some pieces were undercooked inside. Hopefully they improve. ๐Ÿซ– Nanaโ€™s Dim Sum & Dumplings Knew it was Americanized going in. Wonton noodle soup was okay, but the milk tea was way too sweet (no sugar adjustment possible). ๐Ÿ˜‹ Five Spice Their Garlic Beef was flavorful โ€” though the slices were pretty thick. Local friends recommend the Cumin Lamb and Beef Brisket & Tendon Clay Pot. Probably the best Chinese option in Boulder! ๐Ÿ‘ The Crab House ๐Ÿ“ 1190 E 1st Ave, Broomfield (Note: only this location has Chinese dishes!) Tried the Sauerkraut Fish โ€” tasty and generous portion. Their Spicy Chicken is also legit (not battered heavily!). A bit pricey though. ๐ŸŒž Sunrise Meet & Eat Cumin Beef was deep-fried, not wok-fried. A bit disappointing โ€” decent flavor but no veggies. ๐Ÿฒ Hong Kong Kitchen Tofu & Pork Belly Clay Pot โ€” first few bites were great (above average for U.S. Cantonese food), but it got pretty greasy over time. All in all โ€” Boulder has a few gems, but Denverโ€™s definitely stronger for Asian food. If youโ€™re craving real-deal flavors, be ready to drive ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จโ€ฆ #BoulderFood #DenverEats #AsianFoodReview #FoodieDiary #ChineseFoodInCO #EatLikeALocal
