DO NOT GO THERE!
Terribly disappointing. I would give them a zero if I could. I was excited to see the restaurant on Saturday, November 6th. When I arrived there were maybe 3 or 4 other table with guests. It took forever to get someone to acknowledge I was there. Eventually, I was shown to a table. After that, it took forever for someone to come ask me about a drink. My Diet Coke arrived and then another extended wait to get someone to take my order. Once that was placed, 15 minutes later, I got my salad. I needed more dressing, but no one came to check in on me so I wasn't able to ask for more. I sat there as more guests arrived and were seated while others went unacknowledged and walked out. I overheard others complaining about the EXTREMELY slow service. Appetizers didn't arrive in a timely manner. It was horrible. Meanwhile, I waited for my food. And waited. And waited. And waited. I contemplated leaving, but didn't want to walk out without paying for the drink and salad. Eventually, a server asked if that was all I was having and I told her no, I had placed an order a long time ago. She acknowledged that I had been sitting there when she came in at 5. I arrived at 4:30 and it was now 5:30 with no food. She went back to check on the order and said it should only be a few more minutes, but honestly, I think they had to make it from scratch. It was definitely more than a few minutes.
From what I saw, the place was understaffed for a Saturday with evening approaching and no organization at all. My food finally arrived and it was good, but it in no way compensated for the ridiculous wait times.
Finally, my check arrived and I paid and went up asking to speak to a manager and the guy (representing himself as the manager) asked me to go on with what was wrong and I explained the situation and he even agreed with everything I had to say, but never apologized or offered to give me a reduction, gift certificate, NOTHING!
I WON'T BE BACK.
I felt sorry for all of those people waiting to be seated and those...
Read moreWow... where to start. First, they were short staffed, we counted 4 floor staff and maybe the manager working both kitchen and the floor. Let's talk food shall we? We were 2 for dinner and ordered to share the seafood paella, lobster bisque and appetizer fried calamari. The first thing that arrived was the paella - the mussels were cold, the shrimp were hot, the calamari was rubbery (it was like it was cooked in with the rice or made ahead of time and kept in the hot food prep line & became over cooked). It had a good flavor but was disappointed in the seafood. When I asked if the mussels were to be served cold they took the dish and the chef came back with the plate and said he warmed them up. He started to make some excuse to which I stopped him and let him know they were cold upon arrival but that the shrimp were piping hot. About 10-15 minutes later the lobster bisque arrived. It looked nothing like the one pictured by "K" a month ago- we had to find and only fished out 5 very small pieces of lobster. The bisque itself tasted... well, I best discribed it as 'Cream of Cracker'. It tasted like a saltine cracker... if it were a soup. It was oddly tasty but not as a lobster bisque. It also wasn't the color of the other one pictured... ours was very beige like a cracker. I almost forgot the fried calamari... oh wait, so did they. What should have come first arrived 30+ minutes after the main dish was served. The dishes arrived in reverse order 🤔. The fried calamari was delicious! Cooked just right and not rubbery like the ones in the paella. This was the best dish of the experience. To their credit I was compensated on the bill. But this still cost us $30 and we only had water to drink. While they may be focusing on their boils it's important that they also serve other dishes of equal quality and serve in the correct expected order. I'll stick to big mac and little...
Read moreOK so, I rarely write reviews unless something is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, and this place is a combination of the two, I think.
The food? Decent. It probably would have been a lot better had it not taken almost an hour and a half to make it to our table. Now, I know what you're probably thinking, it was a Friday night, it was busy. Well yes, it was a Friday night, but it was NOT busy. We walked in and got a table right away, and half the place was empty. We ordered drinks, the bar made them, they got to our table. Nothing surprising there. I probably would have had another had our waitress bothered to come by and check on us AT ALL, other than dropping the appetizers off about 15 minutes after we ordered them and to bring us the check much later. Honestly, it looked like she was afraid to come over to our table, especially once the 45 minute mark had come and gone and we were still sitting there hungry and getting agitated. Hell, I wouldn't have wanted to either if I were in her shoes, but if she would have let us know that the boil-in-a-bag meals would take so long to actually make it to us, we probably would have ordered something different, or at least another appetizer or two and definitely more drinks. Bigger bill, more tip money, it all follows, but no, we were just ignored. Womp womp.
For the price of the meals we got, I would have hoped for at least a little bit of courtesy if the kitchen was short staffed or whatever (not that we were informed), but hey, my wife wanted to go to Crab House so we went but we won't go back. For the time it took for us to wait for our food, we could have gone down to a similar restaurant in Aurora (or maybe in western Kansas), ordered, ate and been back home if traffic wasn't too bad. Oh well. Fool me once, shame on you. I won't be fooled again.
The takoyaki were...
