🌸 Breathe in and out, let's talk about Kyoto in one go! 🌸

This place was the capital of Japan before the Meiji Restoration, holding the title for over a thousand years, so the main attractions of the entire city are primarily cultural landscapes. 🏯 Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizu-dera, Fushimi Inari Taisha, Kinkaku-ji, Nijo Castle, Sannen-zaka, Katsura Imperial Villa, and so on, all highlight a strong cultural presence. 🌬 Why is there a lot of wind by the Kamo River and Arashiyama? It's because Kyoto doesn't have any impressive natural landscapes to speak of. So, if you're looking for breathtaking and extraordinary natural scenery, Kyoto might not be the place for you. 📚 Visiting Kyoto, it's best to come armed with a bit of historical knowledge to discover some interesting things. Today, we're focusing on 8 main spots. 🏰 Kiyomizu-dera is a must-visit for many friends in Kyoto, with its three-storied pagoda, Otowa Waterfall, Nio Gate, and the Kiyomizu Stage. 🌲 Kiyomizu-dera is also known as Otowa Mountain, primarily dedicated to Kannon. The temple existed before Japan's capital was set here, making it the oldest in Kyoto. However, the current structure was rebuilt by Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1633. Kiyomizu-dera is internationally famous for its Kiyomizu Stage, constructed without a single screw, using 139 Japanese zelkova pillars, offering a panoramic view of Kyoto and a perfect spot for autumn maple viewing. Additionally, the Okunoin, Hondo, Asakura Hall, Taiso-ji, and Shunko-in are five of the thirty-three Kannon pilgrimage sites in Luoyang. 🏯 Yasaka Shrine, the head shrine of all Yasaka Shrines in Japan, is located in Kyoto. It's a symbol of Gion and is also known as Gion Shrine. The ongoing Gion Festival starts and ends here. Enshrined within Yasaka Shrine are Susanoo, born from Izanagi and Izanami. 🌾 Compared to the aforementioned Yasaka Shrine, Fushimi Inari Taisha is a super popular shrine. This place is dedicated to Inari, the god of agriculture and commerce, hence the large number of people coming to pray and give thanks. The thousands of torii gates are donations from those who have had their wishes granted. 🛤️ Sannen-zaka and Ninen-zaka, "zaka" means slope in Japanese, are located in front of Kiyomizu-dera. They are famous mainly because of Kiyomizu-dera, and now for the many historic shops worth visiting. 🏰 Kinkaku-ji, it's quite a sight to see a building gleaming with gold in Japan. The original building was destroyed by fire, and Yukio Mishima's "The Temple of the Golden Pavilion" was inspired by this. Another reason visitors come today is because of their beautiful admission tickets. 🏰 Nijo Castle, this place was the mansion of ancient generals, formerly belonging to the Oda Nobunaga family, and later becoming Tokugawa Ieyasu's residence. The most 🐮 thing about this place is that in the imperial capital of Japan, there's a house that's more luxurious than the imperial palace, which is quite outrageous. 🏰 Kyoto Imperial Palace, a palace over 1000+ years old, every visit gives you a feeling, do the emperors of Japan really live in such places? 🌄 Sagano, if the name looks strange at first glance, that's right. This place was favored by Emperor Saga, and here you can enjoy not only cherry blossoms and autumn leaves but also many gardens to stroll through. 📝 Word count exceeded, that's it for now. #Japan #Kyoto #KyotoTravel
