Bright Winter Sunshine at Deception Pass | Seattle Weekend
The weather was nice last weekend, so I went to explore nearby Deception Pass. It’s about a 90-minute drive from Seattle. If you have more time and want to play around, you can also take a ferry to Whidbey Island first and then drive over. Deception Pass State Park is famous for its iconic bridge, but it also offers campsites, beaches, trails, and more. I arrived close to sunset, so I didn’t have a deep exploration. I just walked around Rosario Beach and then went to see the big bridge. There’s a pedestrian path on the bridge, and in the middle, there are stairs leading down to a tunnel that connects both sides of the bridge. This tunnel is the perfect spot to get a full view of the bridge. 🌉 After seeing the bridge, you can head to 📍 Mt Erie to enjoy the scenery, which is only a 20-minute drive from Deception Pass. You can hike to the top of Mt Erie on a trail or drive straight to the summit (I love places where you can drive to see beautiful views). The view from the top is amazing; you can see the “Thousand Island Lake,” and it’s also great for watching the sunset. 🌅 It’s quite suitable for a leisurely half-day or full-day visit. #Seattle #SeattleSurroundings #SeattleWeekend #WhereToGoOnTheWeekend #Sunset #SeattleDailyLife
