Calgary City Tour
Calgary City Tour 🌆 Banff Travel Guide: Days 8-9 of Road Trip Day 8 kicked off with a morning departure from Amenida Residences. We grabbed an Uber and headed straight for downtown Calgary to soak up the city vibes ✨. 11:00 AM: Arrived at Core Shopping Mall The real gem here? Devonian Gardens on the 4th floor—a lush indoor botanical oasis with trickling fountains, serene ponds, and a playful kids’ zone]. It’s the perfect spot to pause, breathe in the greenery 🌿, and escape the bustle of the mall below. 11:15 AM: Wandered over to Stephen Avenue Walk, just steps from the mall . This pedestrian-friendly street is a photographer’s dream—lined with historic buildings, charming storefronts, and unique architectural details that beg to be captured 📷. Strolling from one end to the other, we soaked in the lively atmosphere and popped into a few quirky shops 🛍️. 11:50 AM: A short walk from the avenue led us to Calgary Tower , the city’s iconic landmark. Just a few hundred meters further, we found the whimsical Wonderland Sculpture (that famous face statue), with the sleek, crescent-shaped Bow Building towering dramatically behind it. Across the street, a picturesque clock tower added another charming photo op ⏰. 12:10 PM: Next stop: Chinatown. Compared to Toronto’s bustling Chinatown, this one feels more quiet and laid-back, with only a handful of scattered shops. We’d hoped to grab lunch here, but nothing quite tempted us—though the small, temple-like building in the area was a unique sight worth checking out 🏯. In the afternoon, we took an Uber back to the hotel, then switched to our rental car to head to CrossIron Mills, an outlet mall on the outskirts of the city. With Calgary’s low tax rates, shopping here was a total delight—definitely a win for anyone looking to pick up souvenirs or score deals 💰! Day 9 marked the end of our 9-day, 8-night Banff adventure 😢. We slept in, checked out of the hotel at 11:00 AM, and headed to Seoul Korean BBQ for a satisfying lunch. Their weekday lunch buffet ($29.99 per person) was a hit—we loaded up on fresh raw meats to grill and a variety of pre-made dishes, all bursting with flavor 🍖. 1:30 PM: Returned the rental car, then made our way to the airport. Keep an eye out for Calgary/Banff/Alberta-themed Starbucks cups here [2nd pic in Pic 18]—if you didn’t find a souvenir mug you loved in Banff, these make a great alternative ☕! 5:30 PM: Boarded our flight back to Toronto, bringing our incredible 9-day Banff and Calgary journey to a close 👋. #Banff #CalgaryTravel
