From California, was visiting friends in Calgary in summer. Had a day to myself so took the CTrain downtown. This pedestrian zone was one of my coolest Calgary discoveries. What a great idea in an urban center. Very impressive. First time I've personally seen something like this. Very progressive idea. It works too. Lots of shops and restaurants. I bought some items myself. Stuff wasn't overpriced. In fact, I really like my "Calgary" t-shirt with the cowboy hat design for only $9.44 out the door. An elevated walkway over the Walk connects the CORE shopping centre which is also fun to browse. All visitors need to check out the Stephen Avenue Walk. Easy CTrain access.

Charming view, look like French style of Cafés for eating out and socializing. You may find fancy restaurant with shade in cool weather close by The Bow River. You need to find a parking spot somewhere to be able to walk through. Before reaching out, there are many Chinese shops, some with old-fashion style. Lucky to find an easy parking spot, but shouldn’t be that easy usually, maybe due to long weekend. Fortunately, could use the spot to see downtown, Prince’s Island Park, Peace Bridge, Stephen Avenue and Devonian Gardens, as well. Good zone to walk for half an hour, other than that nothing else to do over there.

It was a nice walk through downtown. Several blocks are blocked off from cars except for at crossroads so it made it safe for walking and easy to cross the street to get to different shops. A lot of restaurants and shops to go in. The streets were lined with flowers which was nice and they were clean. A few homeless people here and there but not too many and none of them bothered me or asked for money. I felt perfectly safe walking alone.
