California Hit-or-Miss Eats: The Hype vs. Reality ๐โก
From LA to SF, here's my honest take on some popular spotsโsome gems, some letdowns. ๐ Los Angeles ๐ณ Republique โ Potato pancake ๐, but the Shrimp & Anson Mills Grits was a miss ๐. Line moves fast, valet parking available. ๐ Sun Nong Dan โ Their bone soup is solid, but the beef intestine was burnt and bitter ๐ค. Also, mandatory 22%+ tip stung. Parking lot nearby. ๐ Bottega Louie โ Reliable Italian, great atmosphere, spacious, and excellent service. Street parking available. ๐ San Francisco ๐ฆ Cioppino's (Fishermanโs Wharf) โ Seafood stew is amazing, but portions are small for two. Their fish taco is also a win. Parking is tough! ๐ฅฉ Han Il Kwan (Korean BBQ) โ No regrets here! Delicious meats and comforting tofu soup. Easy parking. ๐ 1802 Balboa St, San Francisco, CA 94121 Not every hyped spot lives up to the buzzโbut when they do, itโs pure gold.
