Buses run hourly β super convenient! We arrived in Canberra the evening before and stayed at a city center hotel. Hereβs our full one-day itinerary (using public transport only!): π Stop 1: Australian National University (ANU) Took a 10-min bus from the city at 9 AM. π« ANU campus is huge! To find the iconic sign, navigate to the School of Art & Design β itβs right behind the building. πΈ π Stop 2: National Museum of Australia 15-20 min walk from ANU (or 10-min bus). ποΈ Definitely worth a visit! Rich in historical artifacts β compact but engaging (~1 hour enough). π Stop 3: Lake Burley Griffin Right next to the museum β perfect for a lakeside stroll. βοΈ Beautiful on sunny days (rainy daysβ¦ not so much π ). No booking needed β just walk in. π Stop 5: Old Parliament House 11-min walk from NGA. ποΈ Free entry, no reservation required. Full of historical charm! π Stop 6: New Parliament House 15-min walk from the Old Parliament. π¦πΊ Massive and impressive! Security check at entrance. Loved the LEGO model of Parliament inside β so creative! π§± All attractions close at 5 PM β° β this route lets you finish just in time without feeling rushed.
