I have been sailing on the lake multiple times in lessons and with my children and i was appalled. I could not believe how filthy and absolutely freezing cold. The boats continually dump myself and my family into the water to that we nearly suffered of hypothermia. The islands are horrible and not kept to standard and have God knows that lying around and the absurd language used on the island toilets. I did not appreciate the hygiene of the lake and came out feeling gross, and had no proper place to dry and clean my family. Please pick up standard.
On the other hand the lake does hold many beautiful monuments and natural views from nearly all angles. I was at the Summernats in 94 and it was so hot the local pool was overheating so we went to the lake for a swim & found out the hard way the water was Freezing 🥶 Yes it was cool ! Whenever I am in town I like to go for a jog between the two bridges, or as the locals call it “bridge to bridge” - what will they think of next, creative folks here! Anyway there’s lots of dawgs walking their dogs and if you’re lucky you might even see some baby ducks. Great spots for bike rides, picnics or a bit of fitness, get around it ya bloody dingo dingus.
