After 4 days and 3 nights in Charlotte, I devoured meals at nearly 20 restaurants/food halls! Here are my top 9 favorites: 🍽️ MAIN MEALS 1️⃣ Haberdish 🍗 My FAVORITE restaurant in Charlotte! Must-try: Fried chicken & waffles 🧇. Their weekend special spicy chicken tenders with toast are also amazing. We got free cornbread thanks to our reservation – the butter was so good we licked the plate clean 😋. 2️⃣ Midwood Smokehouse 🥩 You can’t visit NC without trying BBQ! Recommend the meat sampler – pick 4 types. The brisket and ribs are perfectly fatty and smoky 🔥. 3️⃣ Cabo Fish Taco 🌮 Loved the BBQ Mahi-Mahi fish taco! Soy ginger shrimp was crispy yet tender. Avoid the beer-battered items – they lacked flavor. 4️⃣ Midnight Diner 🥞 Coconut French Toast is a MUST 🥥!! Toasted coconut takes it to another level. Their shrimps & grits are authentic Southern comfort food 🍤. 🍴 FOOD HALLS 1️⃣ Optimist Hall 🍔 Highlights: Boxcar Fried Chicken Burger 🍗, Indian Grill (rare snacks!), and Papi Queso’s mushroom grilled cheese 🧀. 2️⃣ 7th Street Market 🧇 Hazelnuts Creperie has 20+ sweet/savory crêpes. My fave: pesto chicken! ☕️ DRINKS & COFFEE 1️⃣ Coco and the Director ☕ Their CRONUT is insane 🍩 – as good as NYC’s Dominique Ansel!
