Chasing the Ultimate Sunset at Joshua Tree National Forest
Suggested Route ➡️ Enter through the South Gate (apparently, the Marriott has a nice view of the flamingos) and exit through the West Gate; we were far from the South Gate, so we chose to enter through the West Gate (you can buy tickets at the visitor center or purchase them on the spot at the entrance, $30🔪 per vehicle) and exit through the North Gate (it’s closer to our hotel). 🌅🍽️No cell service in the area, make sure to download Google Offline Maps in advance! There’s only one restroom at the viewing platform, it’s best to take care of any urgent needs at the entrance. 🌵No restaurants, we bought two burritos and a chicken salad at the visitor center of the West Gate (the chicken burrito and chicken salad were unexpectedly delicious; the beef in the beef burrito was raw, and my husband got a stomachache after eating it). 🌄🚗Since we were already on a half-day self-driving tour with our kid, we only visited two popular spots🔽 🪨 Skull Rock (requires climbing with both hands and feet, it’s crowded and not practical with a baby; we took a few photos on the empty ground next to it, and the pink sunset was also quite beautiful.) 🌵 Cactus Garden The other pictures were taken on the way to Skull Rock, about 10 minutes away from our destination, because we caught the most beautiful moment of the sunset, so it felt very beautiful. #JoshuaTreeNationalPark #JoshuaTreeNationalPark #USNationalPark #roadtrip #CaliforniaTravel #LiveWellContest
