Chicago|One Bite of This Seafood Risotto and All Is Forgiven. 😭✨
As the title says. Restaurant in Old Town: Topo Gigio Ristorante 📍 1516 N Wells St, Chicago, IL 60610 The seafood risotto isn’t on the menu, but just ask your server and they’ll make it. And oh my — it’s unbelievably, outrageously, ridiculously good. Creamy, rich broth with jumbo shrimp, clams, scallops, and crab meat all stirred into perfectly cooked rice. One bite and I was in heaven. I originally planned to eat some and save the rest for lunch the next day… but it was so delicious I finished the entire plate by myself 🫠. Cleaned it right up. 🦑 Grilled Calamari – Chewy and flavorful with a tangy black pepper kick. Not for those who dislike sour notes. 🍰 Tiramisu – Not too strong on coffee/cocoa/alcohol. The cake layer is firmer than expected (different from Whole Foods), but the mascarpone is rich and delicious — I liked it! 😊 This is a highly-rated, authentic Italian spot. My server was a friendly Italian gentleman who, while I was browsing the menu, asked: “Are you looking for the seafood risotto?” 🤣 Probably every Chinese customer who comes here orders it! And the risotto is only around $30 — incredible value for something this tasty. #ChicagoLife #Chicago #ExploreChicago #StudyInChicago #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodFinds
