Chicago | Momotaro Restaurant Week Review
I've been in Chicago for many years but never made it to Momotaro π . The other day, while browsing, I found an opening for the weekend and decided to try their Restaurant Week menu, which seemed like a good deal at $60. π« Restaurant Week Menu Highlights π« β First Course β π©· KARAI TUNA This dish was a pleasant surprise from the moment it arrived. It looks simple but has a rich texture. Made with big eye tuna, which has a bit of fat (not the leanest cut), the ratio of rice to fish is perfect. You won't feel like they're skimping on the fish! π π©· SHIO KOJI SALMON The first bite offers a crispy texture (from the salmon skin), followed by the flavor of avocado puree, and finally the taste of the salmon itself. Overall, it's quite good. β Second Course β π SCALLOP MOTOYAKI This dish has a tangy flavor, which was a bit different from what I expected. However, the scallops are very fresh and the portion is generous. If you don't like sour flavors, you might want to skip this one. π TAKO SU The octopus is well-cooked and seasoned with a spicy flavor. It reminds me a bit of Chinese-style grilled squid. I would recommend this one more. β Third Course β β€οΈ 6-PC NIGIRI (sake, akami, hamachi) This includes three pieces of raw and three pieces of seared sushi. You get to enjoy six different flavors. I really liked the texture of the rice in their sushiβit's firm, not too sour, and has a distinct graininess. β€οΈ YAKITORI DON P7 (Grilled Chicken Bowl?) This dish is quite filling. The chicken is very tender and topped with an egg. It's very satisfying to eat. π» The joy of carbs! #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFood #ChicagoTravel #Foodie
