Chicago Restaurant Review | Bavette’s – The Ultimate Steakhouse 🥩

🌟Bavette’s is widely recognized as the No. 1 steakhouse in Chicago in terms of both flavor and reservation difficulty. I’ve successfully visited twice, and each time I walked in around three or four in the afternoon. Fortunately, someone had canceled their reservation both times, allowing me to dine. I’ve tried a variety of dishes over the two visits and highly recommend the place overall. 🌟Appetizers: Sizzling Shrimp Scampi (Rating: 4/5) – The butter-poached shrimp are tender and plump, perfectly cooked. Paired with the garlicky bread, the aroma is simply irresistible. Wedge Salad (Rating: 4/5) – The thick-cut bacon is incredibly impressive. The only downside is that the blue cheese is quite salty and abundant. A bit less cheese would make it perfect. 🌟Main Courses: Dry-Aged Bone-In Ribeye (Rating: 5/5) – This steak is nothing short of perfect! The exterior is beautifully seared and crispy, while the inside remains a pinkish hue, incredibly tender and juicy. Each bite releases a burst of beefy flavor, with a rich, creamy texture. The cooking is spot-on, making every bite a delight. 🌟Bavette’s Spiced Fried Chicken (Rating: 5/5) – Three huge pieces of fried chicken with a crispy exterior and well-marinated, succulent meat inside. The mashed potatoes at the bottom are creamy and milky, making this a top-notch fried chicken dish. 🌟Shortrib Stroganoff (Rating: 4.5/5) – The short ribs and mushrooms on top are superbly seasoned. The pasta is in a white sauce, and the combination is quite good. However, the texture of the pasta is just average. 🌟Classic Ribeye – Chicago Cut (Rating: 3.5/5) – Another steak recommended by the server, it is also cooked to a crispy exterior and tender interior. However, compared to the dry-aged ribeye, it falls short in terms of flavor and texture. It’s good but relatively ordinary. Sides: 🌟Button Mushrooms (Rating: 5/5) – I would consider these among the best mushrooms I’ve ever tasted. The earthy aroma of the mushrooms, combined with the rich buttery creaminess and the crispy fried garlic, creates a triple-layered flavor that is stunning on the first bite, though it can get a bit overwhelming if you eat too much. 🌟Brussels Sprouts (Rating: 3/5) – The sprouts are roasted to a crispy, caramelized texture, but the seasoning is a bit too tangy. Desserts: 🌟Chocolate Cream Pie (Rating: 4/5) – The smooth dark chocolate lava, topped with a slightly heavy cream and an Oreo tart base, is not at all cloying. 🌟Ice Cream & Sorbet (Rating: 2.5/5) – The ice cream is quite ordinary. The server mentioned during my first visit that this is the only product in the restaurant not made in-house and suggested we didn’t have to order it if we didn’t want to. Service: The server during my first visit was extremely nice. However, the second time, the server seemed quite busy and often disappeared, leading to longer waits between courses. Overall, the dry-aged ribeye is definitely worth trying! If you manage to walk in and get a table, the experience would likely be perfect. #Chicago #ChicagoDining #Steak #ChicagoFood
