Cincinnati Food Review|Fortune Noodle House 🍜

Went to Fortune Noodle House hoping for authentic Chinese food and handmade noodles based on the photos, but the flavors left me with mixed feelings 😅 🍜 Stir-fried Lamb Knife-Cut Noodles – The noodles definitely weren’t hand-shaved, and oddly, the dish was sweet. Not just a hint of sugar for freshness—it was genuinely sweet. A bowl of salty-sweet lamb noodles felt kinda strange to me. 🌶️ Dry-Fried Intestine – The intestine was super crispy, well-seasoned, and the oil tasted clean. Eating it piece by piece felt like having fried intestine bites from a fast-food chain like McDonald’s 🍟. 🐔 Gong Bao Chicken (Kung Pao-style) – This one came with peanuts instead of celery, so we chose the peanut version. Surprisingly, the peanuts were almost raw—seemed like they weren’t roasted or fried at all. The chicken was all large thigh pieces with great texture, but it was extremely salty. One piece required a big mouthful of rice… we ended up leaving most of it. 🫓 Scallion Pancake – Pretty bland, not much scallion fragrance, and not crispy either. The texture was dense, like flattened bread. Tried one piece and decided to take it home to re-fry—hoping it gets crispier! Overall, I didn’t love or hate the place. ✅ Pros: The restaurant is fairly spacious, very clean, and bright. With snow falling outside and Christmas songs playing inside, the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing ❄️🎄. ❌ Cons: The dishes just weren’t there—too sweet, too salty, underwhelming scallion pancake, raw peanuts, and the fried items tasted like they came from an air fryer. It looked like Chinese food but tasted like a foreign interpretation of it. Took all the leftovers home hoping to remake them a bit. As for next time… there won’t be a next time 🙈. #Cincinnati #OhioEats #ChineseFood #FoodReview #FortuneNoodleHouse #NoodleLover
