Colosseum’s Il Tempio di Iside Seafood 🦞

Another work trip💼 recommended by local friends! Enjoying delicious food after work is simply blissful ☺️ We ordered: Locally sourced sashimi: The flathead bream🐟 was expertly prepared with not a trace of blood, crispy and sweet to the taste. The tuna tartare, probably from the fish’s tenderloin, had just the right amount of fat. The squid sashimi was delightful – only Southern Italian restaurants can cook this well! A squeeze of 🍋 was the perfect touch! The shellfish sashimi included: Local 🦪 with plump meat, the taste was stronger compared to French oysters! The shellfish was incredibly crispy when eaten raw. The most noteworthy was the tartufo di mare, sea truffle – it was truly delicious, very crispy, somewhat like geoduck but with a rich, slightly milky flavor 😍 A must-try for sashimi lovers! Blue lobster pasta: I’m not particularly interested in main courses, and I can’t tell the difference between regular Boston lobster and blue lobster 😅, but the texture was still firm and bouncy! The last dish was cernia all’acqua pazza, a large and fresh grouper! I had the fish head – it was really amazing! The rich fish flavor combined with the vegetable broth was delightful. Accompanied by a glass of Tuscan wine🍷, it was truly comforting for the taste buds! The wines we chose were two bottles of Ornellaia, from 2016 and 2018. It’s a bit of a rule-breaker to have red wine with seafood, as white wine or 🍾 is usually more suitable. But the Italian “Four Great Wines” paired with seafood have a unique character 😋 In summary: Rome’s seafood is top-notch! It’s beautiful to visit the ancient Colosseum in the evening. Highly recommended! #RestaurantRecommendations #WesternRestaurantVibes #HiddenGemRestaurant #LuxuryOnTheTongue #AtmosphericRestaurant
