Columbus 🧱🍂: Red Brick and Slate Gray
Day 2️⃣ After leaving Indianapolis, we continued east to Columbus, the capital of Ohio 🚗💨. Before doing my research, my knowledge of this city was pretty much limited to the famous Ohio State University. Many on Xiaohongshu jokingly call Columbus “Cow Village” 🐄😆. While it’s not as bustling as New York or Boston, the city has its own rich cultural and historical charm that’s totally worth a stop. 🍂 Ohio State Capitol 1 Capitol Sq, Columbus, OH 43215 The Ohio Statehouse has a pretty unique design compared to other capitol buildings I’ve visited. The structure is mainly white, and the dome looks like a bucket up close but more like a magician’s hat from afar 🎩✨. 🍂 Scioto Mile Promenade 233 S Civic Center Dr, Columbus, OH 43215 A must-visit spot for a relaxing stroll! Enjoy the river breeze and the skyline of downtown Columbus. There are also lots of cute deer sculptures along the way—don’t miss them 🦌❤️! 🍂 German Village A famous historic district with strong German roots. The area is quite large and perfect for a walk. If you’re craving authentic German food, this is the place to be 🥨🍻. There are also plenty of cozy cafés ideal for a lazy afternoon. 🍂 The Ohio State University 281 W Lane Ave, Columbus, OH 43210 You can’t visit Columbus without stopping by this beautiful campus! Maybe it was because of summer, but the campus was pretty quiet with few students around. Though I didn’t get to experience the usual academic buzz, the peaceful stroll was still lovely. And can we just appreciate how good the school colors—scarlet and gray—look together? ❤️🤍 My step count today totally crushed everyone on WeChat Moments lol! 👣🏆 Sadly, I didn’t have time to see all the recommended spots, but I really enjoyed Columbus. It’s a fairly large city without that “Rust Belt” decline vibe. With so many parks around, I almost felt like moving here! 🌳🏙️ #Columbus #Ohio #OSU #GermanVillage #TravelUSA #MidwestTravel #HiddenGems 🇺🇸🍂
