🥢 Columbus | ER-GE BBQ & Hot Pot Buffet 🍢

The restaurant is located in the former PJ Hotpot space. They open at 3:00 PM – we arrived around 4:00 PM and it was already quite busy. By 6:00 PM, a long line had formed outside! This spot offers a huge variety: cooked dishes, skewers, hot pot, BBQ, fruits, drinks, and ice cream 🍲🍍🍦. The downside? Nothing really stands out as exceptional. Unlike typical AYCE spots where you order from a menu, here it’s a self-serve buffet. Staff are friendly, but a bit stretched due to the crowd. 🍽️ Food Experience The cooked dishes and skewers are the highlights here. 🔥 Skewer Section: A unique offering – probably the only skewer AYCE in Columbus! Options include: potato, eggplant, king oyster mushroom, seaweed, rice cakes, shrimp, chicken feet, beef, pork belly (though the pork had a slight odor 🥹). The veggie skewers were great! Flavors are on the milder side, but dry seasoning is available to customize. You grab the raw skewers, staff grill them in the back, and a robot serves them to your table! 🤖🍢 🍲 Hot Pot: The sauce bar is well-stocked, broths are decent, and there’s a good variety of veggies and noodles. The seafood selection stands out: snow crab, blue crab, shrimp paste, abalone, mussels, clams, scallops, squid! 🦀🦐 However, the meat slices are just average. 🥩 BBQ Section: Meat quality is okay, not the freshest – but understandable given the price. 🧋 Drink Station: Beyond fountain drinks, they offer fresh fruit tea, bubble tea, Sparkling Water, and Wanglaoji! 🧃💚 🍨 Dessert: Fruits and ice cream – a simple but satisfying way to end the meal. 🧼 Environment The restroom is nicely decorated and even stocked with mouthwash! But with high traffic, cleanliness can be an issue. Tables are well-spaced, though we did have a fly visit us soon after sitting down 🪰🥹 💰 Price & Value Two people ate for $59 before tip – seriously great value! Despite some flaws, it’s totally worth the price. If they improved the meat quality, I’d gladly pay $20 more per person. ✅ Verdict: A unique spot – I’d return just for the skewers!
