Columbus – Weekend Food Guide 🍽️ Donpocha Korean Restaurant
Many have recommended this Korean spot! Donpocha offers both Korean BBQ and à la carte dishes. The interior is clean and tidy, and the service is quite friendly. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1️⃣ Complimentary Banchan (Side Dishes) Five sides in total. The jalapeño peppers pack a punch—spiciness hits straight to the stomach! The kimchi has a moderate heat level, and the noodle salad is refreshing and appetizing. 2️⃣ Ox Leg Soup (Sogogi Gomtang) 🌟🌟🌟 Comes with beef shank in a rich, clean broth. Salt is served on the side, so you can adjust to taste—great for those who prefer milder flavors. Can be paired with rice or vermicelli (though the vermicelli portion is pretty small). 3️⃣ Kimchi Fried Rice 🌟🌟 Fried rice with kimchi and beef, topped with a runny fried egg and seaweed flakes. Starts off tasty and satisfying, but gets quite oily toward the bottom and noticeably spicy by the end. 4️⃣ Yuk Hwe (Raw Beef Tartare) 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly recommended by many—and for good reason! Even those who rarely eat raw meat will love this. The beef is marinated in a special sauce and served with a raw egg yolk for dipping—incredibly tender and melts in your mouth. ⚠️ Portion is small, ideal as an appetizer. For two people, you might want to consider ordering two servings. 5️⃣ Steamed Egg (Gyeran Jjim) 🌟🌟🌟 One of the better steamed eggs I’ve had in Columbus Korean restaurants—smooth and well-seasoned on top. However, the edges and bottom can get a slightly burnt, bitter taste. Overall, Donpocha is definitely worth a try! Nice atmosphere, clean and tidy with no strong oily smells, and the food feels fresh and hygienic. 💰 Average cost per person: $30–$50 #KoreanFood #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGem #ColumbusEats #FoodReview
