🍁 The Refectory Restaurant and Bistro 🍁 The Refectory is easily one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Columbus so far. Some say it's Michelin-star level (maybe a rumor), but the service is genuinely the best we've experienced here. ❤️ Foie Gras with Scallop This might be the only reason I've gone four or five times. Main course delicious or not — who cares, just give me the foie gras! The combo of foie gras and scallop blew me away — two favorites paired together with a perfectly balanced sauce. Truly unforgettable. Highly recommend and a must-order every time! (Recently they switched to quail with foie gras, but you can request the scallop version based on preference.) 🥩 Beef Tournedos The beef quality is top-notch, but honestly the mashed potatoes on the side stole the show — so creamy and flavorful. I found the sauce a bit salty though, and the pumpkin puree base wasn’t really my thing. For a $45 main, it felt a bit overcomplicated — I'd prefer just great steak and potatoes. 🐑 Baby Rack of Lamb Generous portion — like 6–8 pieces! Price reflects it, but totally worth it. This is my most recommended main. Even my friends who don’t usually like lamb loved it — tender, juicy, and no gamey taste at all 😂. For someone sensitive to lamb flavor, that’s the highest praise I can give. Super recommend! 👍 🐟 Duet of Salmon and Crab Cake Honestly… not recommended. The salmon itself was fresh, cooked perfectly crispy outside, well-seasoned — but the sauce (some weird celery blend?) ruined everything. I asked for it to be re-made without sauce, just pan-seared with lemon — way better! If you want to try, skip the sauce or ask for one you prefer. There are plenty of other dishes I’ve tried but didn’t mention — but today’s theme is clearly foie gras and their mashed potatoes 🥔❤️. You might ask: if the mains aren’t amazing, why keep going back? Maybe because the foie gras is just that good, and the service is so warm and attentive. Sometimes what you eat isn't everything — a good mood can make up for a lot 😊. And if you’re not happy with a dish, speak up — they’ll remake it to your liking. Put on a pretty dress and treat yourself to a truly special, ceremonious meal here ✨.
