Highbanks Metro Park remains an excellent choice for autumn hiking β the trails are well-maintained, easy to navigate, and best of all, completely free! ππ³ However, due to recent dry weather, the creek beds are mostly empty, leaving the landscape thirsting for rain π§. During my three-hour hike, I passed multiple photographers capturing beautiful fall family photos β a testament to how scenic the park is this season! π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦πΈ While Highbanks offers a gorgeous golden canopy, itβs worth noting that the foliage here leans more yellow than red. The dominant tree species shine in brilliant shades of gold and amber, creating a warm, glowing atmosphere β but if youβre seeking intense reds, you might need to look elsewhere. For truly vibrant red foliage, Iβd recommend heading to downtown Columbus along the riverwalk or strolling through the charming brick-paved streets of German Village π§±π.
