Come to Adelaide in Autumn – Charming Towns 🍁 + Cuddle a Koala! 🐨
Tired of Australia’s East Coast? Try South Australia instead! It’s the perfect family-friendly destination – you can even cuddle a koala here! 🐨 April brings gorgeous autumn colours 🍂 Here’s a one-day itinerary around Adelaide Hills – all within 1 hour from the city! 🚗💨 📍 Gorge Wildlife Park – Cuddle a Koala & Feed Kangaroos 🦘 An open zoo where animals and humans roam freely together – no cages or bus tours! Kids will love spotting emus, echidnas, and other unique Australian animals 🐦 South Australia is one of the few places where you can hold a koala! Two daily sessions: 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM – each hold lasts 2-3 minutes 🤗 The koalas are soft and sweet, and they might even gently rest their paws on your shoulder 🥹 You’ll also find free-roaming kangaroos (even rare white ones!) – they’re friendly and love being fed and petted. ☑️ Tips: Kids under 130 cm can’t hold koalas but can touch and take photos 📷 Koala holding is cancelled on days over 32°C ☀️ 📍 Hahndorf German Village – Architecture, Maple Leaves & Food 🏡 A historic German settlement with colourful buildings, craft shops, and ice cream stores 🍦 In March–April, maple leaves turn red and gold – the whole village looks like a painting! 🎨 Don’t miss the German food: crispy pork knuckle, sausages, and beer 🍺✨ ☑️ Tips: Try Hahndorf Inn or German Arms Hotel for pork knuckle (the latter is more budget-friendly) Visit German Village Shop for cute nutcrackers and Pinocchio dolls 🪅 📍 Near Hahndorf: 1️⃣ Hahndorf Farm Barn – Kids can milk cows 🐄 and feed lambs 2️⃣ Melba’s Chocolate Factory – Stop by for chocolate tasting on your way 🍫 ✈️ Travel Tips: April is autumn – bring a light jacket (mornings/evenings can be cool) Rent a car or hire a driver – easier with kids 🚙 #Adelaide #GorgeWildlifePark #Hahndorf #FamilyTravel #Australia #SouthAustralia #TravelGuide #AnimalEncounters #TravelWithPurpose
