Come to Egypt — Be Sure to Spend a Day in Aswan! ⛵️
Many know Aswan from Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile 🕵️♀️, or the grand Abu Simbel — but even without them, Aswan’s beauty is absolutely worth a full day! Here’s why: 🏛️ 1️⃣ Old Cataract Hotel A legendary hotel and film location 🎬 with top-notch views. But — afternoon tea is average ☕, not worth a special trip. Best Nile-view restaurant is for guests only. 🐘 2️⃣ Abu Simbel Temple I skipped it — 8-hour round trip from Aswan. Recommend a full day if you go! 🌊 3️⃣ Philae Temple 🌟🌟 (Must-go!) A temple rescued from flooding and moved to an island 🏝️. With the Nile, palm trees 🏝️, and golden historical murals — it’s breathtaking! 💡 Buy tickets first → take a boat (private ~400-500 EGP). Ticket office is on mainland. ⛵ 4️⃣ Nile Felucca Ride 🌟🌟 Charter a traditional sailboat 🍃, drift for 2 hours. Sunset + serene night = the Nile is truly blue 💙. 🌳 5️⃣ Feryal Garden Park 🌟🌟 The BEST public Nile viewpoint! Overlook white sailboats ⛵, green islands, flame trees in bloom 🔥 — my most unforgettable view in Egypt! 🏠 Accommodation: Skip Elephantine Island — boat transport is inconvenient. We stayed near Philae Temple: clean, quick access 🚶, and across from popular Nubian restaurants! 🚖 Airport Taxis: Taxis inside Aswan Airport are overpriced — avoid! Walk 10 mins out to “Aswan International Airport” gate 🚶, then book inDrive/careem normally. 👧 Girls: travel in groups — Aswan is near Sudan, and the crowd can feel intense. ☀️ Weather: Super hot! Avoid afternoon outings. Recommend: Philae at 8 AM Nile boat at 5 PM Feryal Garden for sunset (7-8 PM in Egypt 🌇) #Egypt #EgyptTravel #Aswan #NileRiver #TravelEgypt #Africa #Wanderlust 🌍✨🏺🐪
