Two hidden gems in town—one for sweet treats, one for cozy brunch! Let’s dive in 😋 1. Granite State Candy Shoppe This local candy shop is a total delight—think homemade ice cream, piles of chocolate, and so many fun, quirky treats! 🍬 It’s got that charming “small-town candy store” vibe, but fair warning: some of the candies look so homemade they’re almost “ugly” (in the best, most authentic way—you can tell they’re made with love, not factory machines)! Chocolate Options: You can buy chocolate in pre-packaged bags or get it by weight. I asked the staff to scoop me 1 pound of assorted chocolates—one of every flavor! It’s perfect for bringing back to share with coworkers (they’ll definitely love the variety) 🍫. Ginger Specialties: Ginger flavors are their thing! They have crystallized ginger 🫚 and ginger ice cream—super unique. The staff was so friendly they even gave me a free sample of the crystallized ginger. It’s very sweet, but the spicy ginger kick balances it out nicely—worth a try if you like bold flavors! 2. Paperboy Concord Cafe – Happy Grilled Salmon First thought when I saw the dish name: “That’s such a funny name!” 😂 But I was in a great mood, so I figured—why not try this salmon that’s supposed to make you happier? The biggest surprise was the white sauce served with the salmon. The menu called it “volute,” so I had to Google it—and turns out, it’s related to one of the five mother sauces in French cuisine (the foundational sauces of Western cooking)! 🤯 It tasted way more special than your average white wine sauce—rich, creamy, and with a subtle depth that made the grilled salmon (juicy and perfectly cooked, by the way) taste even better. This little corner café has become a go-to for me. I’ve visited a few times and tried different dishes, and every one feels like it has a story behind it—maybe little bits of the chef’s experiences woven into the flavors? And let’s not forget the coffee! Beautiful latte art ☕, perfectly heated (not too hot, not too cold)—it’s the cherry on top of a great meal. Overall, this spot comes with a big recommendation from me 💪💪💪! #SydneyLife #SydneyFood #SydneyRestaurantHopping #SydneyFoodHunt #DeliciousPasta #SydneyRestaurants #Concord #SydneyCoffee
