Concord Library: A Thoughtful Library Open During Holidays 📚

Yesterday was rainy—we originally headed to Meadowbank Park for a fun outdoor day, but ended up scrambling back to the car, all wet and disappointed 😅. Since outdoor plans were off, we figured we’d find a library instead—after all, either the body or the mind should get some “exercise”! 🏋️‍♀️ Turns out, a lot of libraries are closed for the long holiday when we searched—so finding one that’s still open? Total win for a “thoughtful spot” 🌷! About Concord Library It’s pretty new, with two floors total: The upper floor has tons of seats for adults to study or read quietly. The kids’ area is on the ground floor—perfect for little ones to explore books without disturbing others. The children’s books here are super new and neatly organized too—no messy piles, which made it easy for my kid to pick out favorites 📖! Useful PS Tips English Improvement Help: We asked a librarian for book recommendations to boost English skills. The friendly lady went to the IELTS section and grabbed several abridged versions of classic novels—they were a bit too easy for us, though 😂! She also shared a great tip: reading children’s books is a fantastic way to practice English (simple, everyday language, plus fun stories!). Holiday Reading Program for Kids: The library is running a reading challenge for kids aged 0–12! Finish 10 books, and you get a souvenir—plus a chance to enter a big prize draw! The program ends on February 2, 2024, and it’s so easy to complete. My kid chose a yo-yo 🪀 without hesitation when given the option between stationery and the yo-yo—total no-brainer for them! Post-Library Bonus: There’s a small park just one street away from the library. After reading 10 books, we popped over there to stretch our legs—it was the perfect way to refresh after a quiet reading session 🌳! #StudyInUSA #BayAreaFood #ItalianRestaurant #SydneyFood #SydneyBrunch #SydneyRestaurantHopping #SydneyFood #AustralianLifeFantuanDelivery #BayAreaFood #BayAreaLife #ChineseFood #InternationalStudentEats #Concord #ConcordFood
