Corning Museum of Glass 🏛️🔥 | A Spring Break Escape from NYC

During spring break, I left the hustle of New York and made my way to the Corning Museum of Glass — and it was absolutely worth the trip! Whether you're into art, history, or just something sparkly and unique, this place has it all. Let’s start with the museum itself — it’s the largest glass museum in the world! 🪩 Its collection spans over 35 centuries, from ancient Egyptian perfume bottles to stunning contemporary glass sculptures. I was completely blown away by the live glassblowing demos 🎭 — skilled artists transform glowing molten glass into intricate shapes right before your eyes. There’s also a whole section on the science and innovation of glass (think smartphone screens and telescope mirrors!). A major highlight was the hot glass studio where visitors can make their own glass art! 🎨 If you’re planning to try this, I highly recommend booking your session early on the day you arrive. That way, your piece will be ready for pickup the next day — which brings me to an important tip: 📦 Shipping is crazy expensive! So if you can, plan to pick it up yourself. After all that art and creativity, you’ll probably be hungry — and I’ve got a recommendation you won’t want to miss! 🍖 Just a short walk from the museum, on the main street of Corning, there’s a fantastic BBQ joint. Their rib platter is fall-off-the-bone tender with smoky, tangy sauce, and the steak meal is juicy and perfectly grilled. Super cozy vibe, very rustic — a true Finger Lakes gem! The town of Corning itself is adorable — full of little cafes, local shops, and that friendly small-town charm. It’s the perfect slow-down escape after exploring the museum. So if you’re around New York or planning a road trip upstate, put Corning on your list! Whether you’re making glass, eating great food, or just soaking in the beauty — it’s a unique and unforgettable experience. #CorningMuseumOfGlass #SpringBreak #NYRoadTrip #GlassArt #FingerLakesEats #TravelTips #DIYGlasmaking #BBQLover #MuseumHop #USATravel
