Drove 3 hours last weekend to explore Corpus Christi — here’s a compact guide to some underrated spots and local eats! 🚗💨 🌅 Scenic Spots & Beaches Sunset Lake Park 🎣 A local favorite for fishing and grilling by the water — not crowded and super peaceful. Perfect for a chill day by the Gulf. Whitecap Beach 🏖️🚙 You can drive right onto the sand! SUV owners — pop open your trunk and enjoy the ocean view. So convenient and fun. Highway 181 & Harbor Bridge 🌉 The stretch between Portland and Frazier Lighthouse (both directions) offers stunning coastal views 🛣️💙. Driving here was pure joy — highly recommend for a scenic ride! 🦞 Eats & Drinks Paul’s Seafood ⭐⭐⭐ A hidden gem! They sell super fresh daily-catch seafood — lobster, scallops, snow crab legs, shrimp, fish, squid, and even frog legs 🐸! Bring a cooler if you want to haul some back (I brought mine all the way to Austin!). They also serve ready-to-eat dishes, though I haven’t tried those — let me know if you do! 🍽️ 🌺 Other Attractions South Texas Botanical Gardens 🌸🐍 Bigger than I expected! Not just plants — they also have reptiles 🦎 (snakes, lizards, turtles) and beautifully designed garden areas. Well worth the $10 ticket!
