๐ Corpus Christi Travel Guide
Just a 3.5-hour drive from Houston โ totally doable as a day trip if youโre up for it! Hereโs a tested one-day itinerary: โด๏ธ USS Lexington Museum One of the top attractions! ๐ณ๏ธ Summer tip: Itโs hot outside, but most exhibits are indoors and shaded ๐. You can explore crew quarters, hangars, and more โ some areas are air-conditioned ๐ง. One-way path makes it easy to navigate. Ticket: $20 per person. ๐ Texas State Aquarium Labeled as the largest aquarium in Texasโฆ but honestly, itโs pretty small ๐. Great for kids, but adults might find it a bit underwhelming. Some sections are outdoors โ bring water and hat, it gets HOT ๐ฅต. Ticket: $40 per person. ๐๏ธ Whitecap Beach A drive-on beach ๐๐จ! Go early in the summer and bring a sunshade โ seriously, donโt skip sun protection! โ๏ธ The sand is soft and nice, but views are just okay. Parking: $12 (valid all day). ๐ฆช Black Diamond Oyster Co. Famous for oysters โ raw ones were big but not super fresh-tasting ๐. The New Orleans-style (loaded with cheese & garlic) was rich and tasty ๐ง๐ง! Boudin Balls (fried rice & meat) were a bit salty but fun to try. ๐ถ๏ธ Dao Asian Cuisine Solid Chinese food โ not mind-blowing, but good value ๐. Highlights: sizzling tofu (crispy outside, soft inside), stir-fried beef (tender). Skip the too-saltybut portion sizes are generous! Great spot for a casual meal. โ ๏ธ Summer tip: Itโs REALLY hot โ plan accordingly! If you can, stretch your trip to 2 days. The aquarium and USS Lexington are within walking distance โ save that $5 parking and walk! ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ต Best time to visit? When itโs cooler โ perfect beach-laying and seafood-eating weather ๐น๐. #HoustonLife #DayTrip #Texas #TravelTexas #RoadTrip #HoustonToCC #CorpusChristi
