🌊 Corpus Christi Travel Guide
Just a 3.5-hour drive from Houston — totally doable as a day trip if you’re up for it! Here’s a tested one-day itinerary: ⛴️ USS Lexington Museum One of the top attractions! 🛳️ Summer tip: It’s hot outside, but most exhibits are indoors and shaded 😎. You can explore crew quarters, hangars, and more — some areas are air-conditioned 🧊. One-way path makes it easy to navigate. Ticket: $20 per person. 🐠 Texas State Aquarium Labeled as the largest aquarium in Texas… but honestly, it’s pretty small 🐟. Great for kids, but adults might find it a bit underwhelming. Some sections are outdoors — bring water and hat, it gets HOT 🥵. Ticket: $40 per person. 🏖️ Whitecap Beach A drive-on beach 🚙💨! Go early in the summer and bring a sunshade — seriously, don’t skip sun protection! ☀️ The sand is soft and nice, but views are just okay. Parking: $12 (valid all day). 🦪 Black Diamond Oyster Co. Famous for oysters — raw ones were big but not super fresh-tasting 😕. The New Orleans-style (loaded with cheese & garlic) was rich and tasty 🧀🧄! Boudin Balls (fried rice & meat) were a bit salty but fun to try. 🌶️ Dao Asian Cuisine Solid Chinese food — not mind-blowing, but good value 👍. Highlights: sizzling tofu (crispy outside, soft inside), stir-fried beef (tender). Skip the too-saltybut portion sizes are generous! Great spot for a casual meal. ⚠️ Summer tip: It’s REALLY hot — plan accordingly! If you can, stretch your trip to 2 days. The aquarium and USS Lexington are within walking distance — save that $5 parking and walk! 🚶♂️💵 Best time to visit? When it’s cooler — perfect beach-laying and seafood-eating weather 🍹😎. #HoustonLife #DayTrip #Texas #TravelTexas #RoadTrip #HoustonToCC #CorpusChristi
