Cost-effective restaurants in Johannesburg
I can't believe I had the most satisfying seafood of my South Africa trip at a restaurant in Johannesburg! I'll be heading back to Australia in a few days. I spent two weeks traveling in South Africa, visiting Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, and Cape Town. I never expected to be so satisfied with the food in Johannesburg during my three days there. South African Restaurants: The main courses always come with a choice of side dishes (fries, mashed potatoes, salad, roasted vegetables), which is so much more generous than restaurants in Australia! South Africa Prices are amazing: Johannesburg steak for less than 40 bucks, and a full bowl of mussels in seafood pasta for just 25 bucks, with the mussels being so fresh and sweet, even better than those at the famous Cape Town stores! I highly recommend the thick-cut salmon sashimi at the Chinese restaurant in Johannesburg! It's a Chinese restaurant with the quality of Japanese sashimi, and the salmon is so rich in fat that every bite is incredibly satisfying. ➡️Johannesburg Restaurant Recommendations: ❣️ Big Mouth: The Ribeye steak and seafood pasta are legendary (photos 6-7). ❣️ Hyde Park - Olives and Plates: A hidden gem of a restaurant inside the Exclusive Books bookstore. The T-bone, fillet steak, lamb chops, and Mexican tortillas are all amazing. I recommend booking a window seat in advance (photos 1-5). The roasted vegetables as a side dish are perfectly crispy and delicious 😋. ❣️ Nakamori: The best sashimi in Johannesburg. The owner took over a Japanese restaurant and turned it into a Chinese one. The poached chicken (which I think is more like scallion oil chicken) and spicy boiled beef are also fantastic! They also have clay pot rice (to be honest, it's still not as good as in China, but it's better than in Adelaide). 👏 Follow me to discover more little joys on the road. 💗 #Offbeat #Cities #Restaurants#Irresistible #Johannesburg
