💃 Daily PLOG｜American BBQ🍖 Pork Spine Soup☔️ Sushi Fail

🍕 Settebello Loved it the first time, but this visit — toppings were noticeably skimpy… Can I just find a place with consistent quality? Good Neapolitan pizza is so hard to come by. 🌯 Eat Fantastic No need to say much — a true hidden gem. From breakfast burritos to burgers, they’ve got it all. This time though, the fries were a bit undercooked 😂 🍖 Gus‘s BBQ A BBQ spot where the sauce is better than the meat 😂 We got the meat combo — best was the Memphis baby back ribs, sausage was good too, but brisket was just okay. Their famous cornbread arrived in record time — we hadn’t even finished ordering before it landed on the table. Turns out it’s so popular they keep batches ready… no chance to change your mind! 🍣 Sushi Kisen Probably the most disappointing sushi experience so far 💣 Not that it’s bad — just average, traditional with no creativity. But the billing method is seriously weird and off-putting — won’t go back even if it were tastier. The omakase wasn’t priced clearly (our fault for not asking…), and the final bill was itemized by piece?? Why not say so earlier? I’d have just ordered my favorites. And the final slip they gave us to sign wasn’t even ours — it was hundreds of dollars more expensive 😑 🍲 Moobongri Soondae Their sundae (blood sausage) isn’t great, but the pork spine potato stew is fantastic! The meat is super tender and flavorful after simmering in the broth. Dip it in their mustard sauce — so good! Finishing with instant noodles soaked in that rich soup was the perfect touch — couldn’t stop eating! Their pickled radish and kimchi are also delicious. 🍅 Now’s the perfect season for persimmons — each one bright red and super sweet. 🍖 Tried slow-roasted boneless short ribs… still feels like something’s missing compared to bone-in. 🍵 To keep matcha latte from clumping, add water gradually and whisk in stages — the more rounds, the smoother and better the layering! 🫘 Picked up frozen mugwort rice cakes at Zion Market — pretty good, though the black sesame ones had no filling (I added my own sesame paste). Red bean ones had little filling and were a bit sweet.
