Dallas | A Collection of Lotus Viewing Spots Nearby
This summer, I visited several places with lotuses/lotus flowers. So, I decided to compile a list for future flower viewing: 1️⃣ International Water Lily Collection, San Angelo, TX I stumbled upon this place while researching for work. The water lily is a city feature. There's a park in the city center that's open to the public for free. It has pink, white, and purple water lilies. But it's a 4-hour drive. 2️⃣ Caddo Lake State Park I haven't been to this park during the lotus season. But I've seen others' pictures of boating. There are many yellow lotuses in the lake. 3️⃣ Weatherford The Boardwalk It's over a 1.5-hour drive. The water is shallow. When it's hot, the leaves might wither, and the land might crack. It's best to go one or two days after rain at the beginning of the lotus season. The floating bridge is close to the lotuses. The number of flowers has decreased in recent years. The condition of the flowers depends on the weather. 4️⃣ Fort Worth Nature Preserve, TX This is the nearest place with wild lotuses in their natural habitat. It's not crowded. You can hike and see wildlife. There's a newly opened lotus marsh boardwalk with a canopy for shade. #DallasWeekend #DallasLife #Dallas
