Dallas | Delicious Korean Beef Short Ribs

Not long ago, in the Houston Korean food roundup I posted, a fellow foodie recommended that I try some Korean cuisine in Dallas. And here’s my chance! 😃 With limited time, I only managed to visit one place—Maht Gaek in Carrollton. I thought it was pretty good! We ordered a medium portion of kalbijim (Korean beef short ribs) and a serving of seafood tofu soup. ☺️ The price was on the higher side, coming in at around $100+. 💰 🍲 The tofu soup was pretty standard. It was especially comforting to have a bowl on a cold day. The tofu could have been softer for an even better texture. 🥩 The kalbijim portion was generous, with around twenty small pieces, along with tteok (rice cakes), potatoes, and onions. It was very flavorful, and we ate until we were full, even taking a big container back to Houston to continue enjoying. 😅 The preparation of kalbijim is actually quite simple. I’ve had it at many places, and each one has its own unique take. But the key is that the kalbi must be tender, stewed until it’s soft and full of flavor. The side dishes are the finishing touch. In my opinion, Maht Gaek nailed it. 👍 #FoodieCheckIn #KoreanCuisine #Dallas #DallasFood
