Dallas | Fuzhou Snacks Discovery at Fang‘s Wok 🥢

A new spot that’s not hotpot or Sichuan cuisine? Finally! 🎉 Tucked quietly into the former location of “The Bull King,” Fang’s Wok is a humble eatery specializing in Fuzhou-style snacks. Though they’ve just opened and service felt a bit chaotic — slow pacing and a few kitchen mix-ups — the flavors made it worth the patience. 🍖 Braised Platter (Lu Shui San Pin) Price: $19 A must-order! 🥳 Similar to Chaozhou-style braised meats but with a slightly sweeter profile. The meat is fall-apart tender and deeply infused with flavor. The dipping sauce stood out — I think it’s made with Worcestershire sauce (喼汁)? A unique and delicious touch! 🍜 Fuzhou Rice Noodle Soup (Lao Hua San Pin) Pick your own three toppings from the counter — meats or seafood — served with thin rice noodles in a rich, savory broth with a noticeable fish sauce aroma. 🐟🍜 Not sure how authentic it is, but it totally won me over! ⭕ Fuzhou Wonton Soup (Bian Rou) The broth leaned heavy on white pepper — a bit too strong for my taste, almost like instant seasoning. But my husband loved it! ❤️👨🍳 ❌ Sesame Noodles (Ban Mian) Not what I expected from classic Shahe-style noodles. The peanut sauce was overly salty, and the noodles were softer than I prefer. At $4, it’s budget-friendly, but I’ve made better at home. 🥜 ❌ Fried Taro Cake A letdown. 🫤 Mostly starch, very little taro flavor. The outside was crispy, but the inside was bland and came with no dipping sauce. Maybe it’s traditional, but it’s nothing like the flavorful Cantonese taro cakes I’m used to. 💰 Great Value! All of the above came to just $45. We’ll be back — if only for that braised platter! 📍 Location: Former Bull King spot (exact address helpful if known) 🕙 Tip: Give them time — they’re still new and finding their rhythm. #DallasFood #DallasEats #FuzhouFood #DFWFoodie #HiddenGems #AsianEats #DallasLife
