Dallas | My Favorite Brunch Spot Just Opened—Two Hands

Two Hands: 2681 Howell St, Dallas, TX 75201 The Austin brunch place I’ve missed the most is finally here ☺️ That familiar banana-walnut bread hit me right in the feels. Last Saturday I crushed a Barry’s class, then headed straight to Two Hands—basically my old Austin weekend routine in one morning. I may have teared up a little 🥰 Two Hands sits in The QUAD, a pocket of new cafés and restaurants that’s super cute. After eating, my friend and I posted up on the big yellow “Q” sculpture, sipping coffee and zoning out for ages… Then yesterday our office alarm suddenly blared 🚨 “Active shooter on campus.” The whole building went into lockdown; some coworkers were crying. Our team lead—who’s also a Dallas police officer—flashed his badge and stepped up: “I’m an active police officer in Dallas. I’m taking charge of this room.” He directed us to move away from windows, pull the blinds, and stay low. I’d always thought he was kind of a goof, but in that moment he was pure calm authority 🥹 Thankfully it turned out to be a false alarm, but my heart was in my throat the whole time. #Dallas #DallasLife #DallasEats #DFW
